This company specialises in 15th century court dance from France and Italy. They performed for the first time in 1987 at the Royal Library Albert I in Brussels, on the occasion of the publication of a new facsimile edition of the Basses danses Ms. 9085.

They toured with great success all over Europe in early music festivals from Glasgow, Krakow, Utrecht, Darmstadt, Leiden,Then Hague and several cities of India.

In this program the elegance of the art of 15th century dancing, the lyricism and the courtliness are combined with the medieval symbolism and visual strength which is characteristic for the Flemish Primitive painters. Music, dance, poetry and costumes melt together into a refined performance for connoisseurs and lovers of late medieval art.

• The Landshuter Hochzeit 1475

Thanks to the extensive work on 15th century court dance Lieven Baert was appointed choreographer of the Landshuter Hochzeit for the festivals of 1997 and 2001/2005.

Countless visitors from all over the world have experienced this festival, a historical pageant that is amongst the greatest in Europe. More then 2000 participants in medieval costume bring this event to life in all the splendour of the late Middle Ages.

At the Town Hall 75 dancers and 12 musicians recreate a late medieval dance evening. On this festive occasion bride and groom as well as their royal guests meet to dance in magnificent costumes.

These dances are reconstructions or choreographies based on manuscripts of the period. The "Tanzspiel" finishes with an exotic and grotesque Moresca, a theatrical and acrobatic showpiece.
